Our breeding strategy

Our breeding is based on respect for the dog as an individual. We are committed to:

Never compromising on health and welfare. Being open and honest in our work. Taking responsibility for the dogs, treating each as a full family member. Breeding for a stable and secure temperament. Avoiding exaggerations and always prioritizing function and health over show trends.

Our dogs should be safe in everyday life, both in active homes and in quiet family situations. Our goal is to breed healthy, mentally stable and breed-typical Manchester Terriers, which function equally well as family dogs, and active working dogs. We want to contribute positively to the development of the breed, through responsible breeding, a focus on genetic diversity and a strong commitment to the dog's welfare throughout its life.

Well-planned combinations

We carefully plan the combinations and therefore we only have one litter per year. We focus on combining strengths and compensating for weaknesses, where we improve the next generation. Since the Manchester Terrier is a relatively small breed, it is important for us to preserve the genetic diversity in our breeding work. This means that we avoid a high degree of inbreeding and choose combinations that strengthen the breed's genetic breadth. We work proactively to promote good health, where we only use breeding animals that have been thoroughly health tested according to the breed's recommendations. This means that we test for hereditary diseases, such as von Willebrand's disease (vWD) and patella examination. In order to preserve the breed's distinctiveness and elegance in line with the breed standard, we focus on correct proportions, movements, breed-typical expression and functional and healthy physique in our breeding selection.
